Polcha is the brainchild of two free-spirited, creative minds. Charlotte Tarbouriech, a graduate of Studio Bercot, has previously collaborated with major fashion houses in Paris, London and Italy. Her specialty was shoe design, working closely with Italian manufacturers whilst learning how to pair creativity with artisanship, and materials’ know-how. Pauline Leyravaud, a graduate of ESAG-Penninghen and gold medalist of the Van Der Kellen Institute, creates frescoes, gilding, lettering, glass gliding, scenography and trompe l’oeil for designers and craftsmen.
Polcha creates one-of-a-kind designs by revamping and reinventing existing pieces. Each design is given a new identity through colours and materials: a vibrant, original up-cycling that makes it unique. Graphic research paired with the use of new techniques is at the heart of Polcha, reflecting the founders’ unparalleled know-how. The brand also works on private projects including bespoke restyling of furniture and interiors. All furnishings are numbered and signed.
The visually stunning, unique trompe l’oeil that mark most pieces. The familiar, almost unnoticeable shapes of simple designs in the likes of a side table, or a chair are transformed into conversation pieces.
