Banc Marquesa appartient \u00e0 la ligne de mobilier imagin\u00e9e par Oscar Niemeyer \u2014 l’architecte moderniste br\u00e9silien \u00e0 qui l’on doit Bras\u00edlia et le si\u00e8ge des Nations Unies \u2014 en collaboration avec sa fille Anna Maria Niemeyer, durant ses ann\u00e9es d’exil politique \u00e0 Paris. Frustr\u00e9 par un mobilier des ann\u00e9es 1970 qui ne refl\u00e9tait pas l’architecture de son temps, Niemeyer entreprit de dessiner lui-m\u00eame ses meubles, portant ses courbes sensuelles jusque dans le bois et le m\u00e9tal.<\/p>\n
Con\u00e7u \u00e0 l’origine en 1974, ce banc associe bois laqu\u00e9 noir et rotin tress\u00e9, sa silhouette \u00e0 volutes rappelant le banc \u00e0 enroulements classique tout en portant la ligne sinueuse et architecturale propre \u00e0 Niemeyer.
