We are delighted to introduce a collection of “couture” face masks created by Virginie Morel, a renowned French artisan. For the past ten years, Virginie has made a name for herself in the business of “home couture”, transforming beautiful fabrics into bespoke soft furnishing upholstery and curtains.
Now, her great know-how and artistic eye for beauty are serving a noble purpose: by creating this original collection of face masks she draws our attention to the local textile manufacturers who are struggling as economies shrink sharply. Moreover, she brings out colourful, pleasing patterns, something we all need these days…
For this first collection, Maison Thevenon – a fourth-generation family-run textile business – offered its best fabrics repurposed for safe usage. The masks are skilfully sewn and pleated for extra comfort, whilst the motifs aesthetically align when depleted.
We are delighted to support this initiative as we care about the future of the craftsmen and local manufacturers we regularly work with. The selling price of these masks is their cost without any mark up, our sole purpose being to help out and promote this kind of thoughtful, selfless actions.
For the time being, face masks are arguably (unfortunately!) the must-have accessory of the season… let’s make the most of it, let’s make it count.
