Multicultural inspirations and eclectic refinement: the world-renowned Pinto Paris joins The Invisible Collection.

Alberto Pinto needs no introduction: his work has been gracing the most exclusive homes from New York to Monte Carlo since the early seventies. What started as a hobby – redecorating his Manhattan apartment between assignments, as he was an accomplished lifestyle photographer– became his true calling and passion. His first projects were completed mainly in New York, where he quickly became the go-to interior decorator in town. He soon opened his namesake agency and went on to carry out hundreds of prestigious projects all over the world until his death in 2012. His legacy lives on through his studio and its talented, dedicated team of architects and designers.

Known for his warm, outgoing personality, and his love for parties, Alberto Pinto was driven by the need to design exceptional interiors made for “the great art of entertaining”. His aesthetic, which he defined as “Haute Decoration interior design”, is based on the harmonious combination of rich colour palettes and eclectic styles conjuring an atmosphere of luxury and beauty.

The furnishings designed for each specific project are a tour de force of creativity paired with high craftsmanship; they encompass all elements of interior decoration, including outdoor furniture, ceramic objects and dinnerware.

We handpicked several series of furnishings and objects that best express Pinto’s eclectic, unmistakable style. The designs are all skilfully handcrafted and made of refined materials: comfort meets elegance.

Alberto Pinto was born in Casablanca, studied in Paris, and started his career in New York: the cosmopolitan energy and the culture mix of these three cities forged his multilayered, eclectic aesthetic. In his collections we can perceive the many inspirations that fed his creativity. The Aegean Sea is the source of the Faros lamps, the stunning Cyclades ceramic amphoras and the Achilles coffee table. From African ancient imagery stem the Logos collection and the Mana sofa. Pinto also fuses different inspirations with the Cottage collection, tapping into traditional rural furnishings, in the spirit of the Art & Crafts Movement, revisited with almost Brancusian sculptural accents.

Born in Casablanca in 1943, Alberto Pinto left his cosmopolitan hometown to attend the prestigious Ecole du Louvre in Paris. His career took off in the late sixties in New York, where he became a famous photographer for lifestyle magazines. Whilst redecorating his Manhattan apartment – where he hosted countless, memorable parties – he realized that interior decoration was his true calling. The apartment make-over was a sensation, and in no time Alberto Pinto became the go-to interior decorator in town. Fifty years on, the Alberto Pinto agency has completed over 500 prestigious projects all over the world. The founder sadly passed away in 2012, but his legacy lives on through a talented, dedicated team of architects and designers.
