André Thuret held from 1922, engineering positions in the glass works of Bagneux, then Bezons. He was a scientist by training, and a glassmaker by passion. He came to art through science, experimenting with the shapes and the colours of glass, and the reactions of metallic oxides. All Thuret’s vases, cups or bottles are unique pieces, blown and worked using the traditional technique at a temperature exceeding 1,000 degrees.
