The Lily Door Wedge is yet another iteration of Uchronia’s collaboration with Bruno Hugounenq, a passionate craftsman and master of venetian stucco. This ancient technique of applying to a surface a multi-coloured paste that looks like marble is now transposed to contemporary objects. The result is a striking one-of-a-kind design with astonishing colour combinations.
Founded by Julien Sebban, Uchronia is a multidisciplinary architecture and design collective based in Paris. Its name draws from a neologism coined by Charles de Renouvier, a 19th century French philosopher who brought forward the concept of alternative worlds, a sort of unbridled “what if” … Known for its singular ethos, Uchronia has delivered countless projects defined by striking atmospheres and unparalleled craftsmanship. Each space – encompassing private homes, restaurants, shops and exhibition venues – is designed with the “what if” factor in mind and all the exciting adventures that could take place in it.
