The Said Sisters, Mentalla and Asmaa Said, set up their practice, Doodle and the Gang, in 2022. The studio experiments with different forms and materials to create emotive objects and furniture pieces that breathe life and bring awareness to our surroundings. With a fascination of the past and exceptional rigour to explore the future, the Sisters aim to create pieces that pay tribute to traditional craft combined with an idiosyncratic and contemporary approach. The first collection, Volume I, includes furniture pieces handcrafted by local artisans as well as ceramic pieces handmade by the sisters themselves. The series was debuted at Downtown Design Dubai in November 2022.
