Founded in 2020 by Emily Marant and Hugo Matha, French Cliché revisits French culture and its influence on design through the work of up-and-coming artists. Every original piece is born out of the collaboration between emerging talents and renowned craftsmen who symbolize French excellence. The artisans’ unique crafts provide new solutions and techniques to young creatives, who in turn bring their fresh vision to ancestral know-how. The collection of limited-edition pieces – signed and numbered- is playful, whimsical and ironic. It subverts overused clichés on French culture with the aim of redefining French design.
