Born in a Lebanon and raised in Japan, Nada Debs graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in the US. She then moved to London where she began designing and producing custom furniture. Nada Debs returned to live in Beirut at the age of forty. Cosmopolitan and prolific, her multicultural approach has made her one of Lebanon’s design and furniture stars and has won her the 2022 AD Designer Of The Year Award. A master at fusing her middle eastern heritage with Japanese influences, Nada Debs mixes traditional crafts with vibrant references to contemporary visual culture. Constantly pushing the boundaries of marquetry, she magnifies oriental handicrafts with a timeless contemporary eye.
