      EDITOR’S NOTE

This traditional ceramic bowl best translates the beauty of nature with the symmetry of its shapes and magnificent plasticity. Made with the rolling technique, and finished with silkilu tree’s resin.

      ABOUT THE DESIGNER
The Sinchi Sacha Foundation (Selva poderosa, in Kichwa) is a WFTO (World Fair Trade Organization) Fair Trade certified NGO that has been working for more than 30 years with indigenous communities in Ecuador in the promotion and enhancement of Ecuador's handicraft heritage.
The women of the Canelos Kichwa community in the Ecuadorian Amazon are determined to pass on the ceramic tradition to new generations of girls, as it is a women's only practice. Knowing that this precious art is in danger of disappearing, The Sinchi Sacha Foundation are initiating the process to request UNESCO to declare the ancestral technique used in the elaboration of the mukawa a World Heritage Site.
