Named Maison&Objet’s Designer of the Year and Interior Designer of the Year, Gonzalez has built a signature ‘chic mix and match’ style defined by bold color, layered pattern and a playful dialogue between historical periods and cultures.

The Bosphore Wall Lamp was born from a collaboration between Laura Gonzalez and the skilled ceramists of Atelier Jean Roger, uniting Gonzalez’s love of cross-cultural ornament, evoked in the lamp’s name recalling Istanbul’s storied strait, with a centuries-old French ceramic craft. Every piece is entirely hand-made, a rarity in an age of mass production, and carries the subtle irregularities that only a maker’s hand can leave behind.

In this brown edition, the ceramic surface is worked into an intricate, dimpled texture that evokes a surface embossed with studded forged nails, catching light and shadow across its raised pattern in a way that turns a simple wall fixture into a piece of sculptural relief. The interplay between Gonzalez’s decorative instinct and Jean Roger’s ceramic expertise gives the lamp a warmth and tactility that glows as much by day as by night.

Laura Gonzalez

AD100 designer Laura Gonzalez founded her Parisian agency at 24, fresh out of university. Since then, she’s been stirring the senses of design lovers across the globe with her colorful, ultra-textured aesthetic. Known for her unique, unexpected mix of styles and genres, Laura has delivered some fantastic projects, including the restyling of Cartier flagships in Paris and in New York. Tapping into her Mediterranean roots, ethnic influences from her constant travels and an ever-so-chic Parisian twist she creates sophisticated, yet warm interiors. Blending contrasting materials and incredible color palettes she reinvents maximalism, and demonstrates that, sometimes, more is more.
