      EDITOR’S NOTE

Pin Noir is a signature piece from Objekti, whose spiked, pineapple-shaped silhouette was inspired by pina sculptures discovered in a Mexico City museum. Worked with Mexican artisan families using Pre-Columbian pottery techniques, it stands as the grand dame of the Objekti pines, at home in both classic and contemporary interiors.

Hand-sculpted in clay with a glossy black glaze, each Pin Noir is finished using copper sulphate glazes and passed through multiple firings, with shapes and tones varying slightly from piece to piece as a mark of its handcrafted nature, bespoke colours available on request. What makes it so inspiring is the sheer number of individually hand-applied clay seeds that build its spiked, pina-like surface, a technique lifted almost intact from Pre-Columbian pottery.
