Part of Pietro Franceschini’s world, the Atlas Pouf 1 translates the Florence- and New York-based architect’s belief in “neotenic design” — forms reduced to their most essential, almost primal geometry — into an object built through Italy’s most storied ateliers, sourcing marble from Carrara, metalwork from Florence and upholstery from Milan.

This Atlas pouf carries the sculptural, ball-like silhouette that defines the piece across the Olympus Collection, its rounded form built to feel as playful as it is architectural. Sculptural qualities blend with a touch of levity, the soft, enveloping upholstery creating a striking contrast with the cool cast-brass legs that anchor the piece to the floor.

The Designer

Pietro Franceschini

Pietro Franceschini is an accomplished architect and designer based in New York and Florence with an international background. After honing his skills at renowned firms, Franceschini founded PF|Studio, an interior and collectible design practice that merges the digital and physical worlds.

His signature style, exuberant yet classic, is defined by a playful take on the "neotenic design" aesthetic, which involves the evolution or distortion of each work from the previous one. Despite its apparent simplicity, his piece is counterbalanced by exquisite finishes and the combination of refined materials, which give his designs a unique and unmistakable look.
