The mood is perfect: Dimoremilano is in the house! We are thrilled to announce a special collaboration with the beloved design label from Dimorestudio introducing Emisferi, a first-of-its-kind residency at the Mews House, The Invisible Collection’s headquarters in London.
Britt Moran and Emiliano Salci, the two creative minds behind Dimorestudio, took over the ground floor of our three-story home in Marylebone and re-imagined it, infusing it with the sultry, cinematic atmosphere that has become the brand’s signature style.
Moran and Salci have been making waves in the design industry for quite some time now, injecting their gorgeous projects with distinctive moody palettes and lavish furniture pieces.
Italian style is hard to articulate, however, Dimorestudio’s pieces epitomize it with the ultimate ease and prowess – confidently marrying the most unexpected colours and textures and breathing new life into traditional Italian tropes with their unmistakable, contemporary signature.
“The word ‘Dimore’ in Italian means dwelling but conjures up images of old villas clinging to their aristocratic origins. It lends the name a sense of nostalgia. I think it’s our DNA: we take a historical approach to a project to give it some roots, and then we inject it with more of a contemporary feel.” writes Britt Moran in Dimorestudio’s Manifesto.
Design lovers and connoisseurs will discover a boldly furnished set designed to conjure sensuality and chromatic wonders. Slightly dark and decadent colors are counterbalanced by signature shades such as ivory, mustard and burgundy. The materials nod to Milan’s aesthetic made of steel, brass and bamboo.
“Dimorestudio hold a secret recipe for mixing the most unexpected colors & textures with fearless confidence – conjuring atmospheres that are fashionable and almost louche with an air of play,” says our confounder, Anna Zaoui. She adds that we are absolutely delighted to host Dimoremilano’s debut show in the UK and so proud to have initiated this exclusive collaboration which has made us rethink the entire ground floor of our Headquarters. The space has transformed into a fabulous showcase that feels almost like the counterpart of the Arts Club where Dimorestudio imagined Leo’s, inspired by 1950s Riviera clubs.
“Dimore interprets memories and creates dreams. We are storytellers and experience builders. We create designs and atmospheres that recollect.” write the design duo in their manifesto. When looking at their work one can feel the emotion triggered by contrasting feelings of nostalgia and hope, embodied by an unmistakable mix of different time periods and styles.
Design highlights from the show include the ethereal Oriente A Ceiling Lamps – magnificent silk pendants finished with an intricate floral motif, the Patty Armchair – a style exuding early 20th century glamour, and the Monocentrico Table – a striking centerpiece combining the central elements of steel, brass, and bamboo.
“With its size and location, this temporary dimora allows us to show at its best the essence of our contemporary furniture brand – a source of value and pride for our Studio that since 2005 has consolidated its roots within the international luxury design segment,” say Britt Moran and Emiliano Salci, delighted to collaborate with The Invisible Collection.
