The award-winning design studio joins The Invisible Collection with an alluringly eclectic collection of furniture available exclusively through us

We are thrilled to unveil the first furniture collection by Campbell-Rey, the award-winning design studio founded by Duncan Campbell and Charlotte Rey. This debut collection filled us with a sense of wonder, and we are honoured that the design duo partnered with The Invisible Collection to introduce their work, available to purchase exclusively through us.

We’re delighted to be working with The Invisible Collection on bringing these pieces to a wider audience. The platform shares our obsession with details, a dedication to the finest craftsmanship, a celebration of l’art de vivre and a belief in design as a catalyst for conviviality, and it is undoubtedly the most well-regarded platform for collectable design today,” say the two designers about this exciting collaboration.

Charlotte and Duncan need no introduction; their playful, elegant aesthetic has garnered acclaim from some of the world’s leading publications and has won them international prizes. Despite their super-busy schedule undertaking residential and commercial interior design projects globally, Charlotte and Duncan found the time to conceive and bring to life a complete furniture collection imbued with a “playful, irreverent spirit and a desire to make magic.

Bold and vibrant, this collection is a contemporary take on the best of 20th century European design expressed in Campbell-Rey’s exuberantly joyful and insouciant aesthetic. Each piece is a celebration of joie-de-vivre, colour and exceptional craftsmanship. The designers take us on a journey of inspirations drawing from distinctive styles encompassing twentieth century Milan, Secessionist Vienna, and pre-war Stockholm: these diverse styles come beautifully together into unexpected statement pieces that will bring a spirit of conviviality into any room.

Expertly handcrafted in the UK, each piece epitomises the designers’ fascination for intricate details and their commitment to craftsmanship. For instance, some exquisite finishes – including hand-painted faux tortoiseshell and coromandel wood – were made by a skilled decorative painter trained at the only school in the world where this rare, artistic craft is taught.

Rich, vibrant colours, exaggerated forms and modular shapes define the collection that includes Lapo, an inviting sofa draped in velvet Pierre Frey mohair sitting on spherical hand-painted faux-coromandel feet, the Josef hall bench in a glossy yolk colour with sphere detailed armrests and a seat cushion in Raf Simons x Kvadrat silky angora mohair.

Campbell-Rey’s work stretches our imagination by evoking distant memories of Renaissance palazzi and queenly boudoirs. The Stella and Luna cocktail tables pay homage to Piero Portaluppi’s restoration of the 15th-century Casa Atellani in Milan; the Magdalena mirror is a modern take on a Queen Anne Chinoiserie pier mirror…

For our first collection of furniture, we’re pleased to introduce a cast of characters each bringing their individual personalities to a line-up of colour, form, craftsmanship and unexpected materiality. The overall feeling is one of wit, elegance and eclecticism – pieces to make a room, to be enjoyed, to age and to become better with time and patina,” add the two designers.

Chic, digital, cosmopolitan… Duncan and Charlotte have it all; we are absolutely delighted to welcome them to The Invisible Collection. We love their creativity, their European culture, from Italy to Sweden, yet so British…” comment our co-founders Anna Zaoui and Isabelle Dubern-Mallevays.
