The COSSE ceiling lamp by Ludovic Roth is entirely made in France by the finest artisans. The ancestral know-how of upholstery is associated with a future-forward technology, particularly respectful of the environment. “COSSE was born from the desire to confront a classic material with modern technology, in an honest and transparent approach – because committed sincerity is transmitted to the object,” says the designer. His choice fell on a noble material, leather, and on a contemporary technology, OLED. Developed in the 1950s, it is one of the most environmentally friendly light sources, as it is directly recyclable. In a search for the ideal shape, Ludovic Roth came up with the idea of a four-sided metal core, an aerial structure sheathed in leather with meticulous, state-of-the-art saddlery work. With COSSE, the ancestral know-how of upholstery thus meets a technology of tomorrow. Praised as a “A reflection of its time and contemporary issues,” COSSE was recently included into the prestigious collection of Mobilier national.
