Maison Leleu was founded in 1910 by Jules Leleu, who went on to win the grand prize at the 1925 Exposition Internationale that gave Art Deco its name. The Lacquered Bridge Console is part of the house’s ongoing re-edition project, led by great-granddaughter Alexia Leleu, drawing on a century-old archive of motifs never before produced.

Finished here in a dark green lacquer, with a blue lacquer variant also available, the Bridge console reworks the geometric silhouette of Jean Leleu’s Serpentine shelf, keeping the top’s distinctive stepped line while adding a gold-leaf finish that catches light against two slender, column-like legs in fine wood. It is one of several pieces in which Alexia Leleu takes a specific, named object from her grandfather’s archive and gives it a new function in a contemporary room.
