Tableware & Linens
Tableware & Linens

The French call it “Art de la table”: the art of setting the table with the most gorgeous tableware & linens. It is no coincidence that they call it “art”; indeed, it takes a lot of savoir faire to create original, delightful tablescapes. Whether it’s a formal dinner or a more relaxed gathering for sharing a homemade meal, we all love a well-appointed table that is aesthetically pleasing. We compiled a small list of tips that should come handy when wondering how to set the table and choose the right tableware & linens. First, when choosing tableware & linens to set the table, you need…the linens!

Lay out a place mat or a freshly ironed tablecloth and matching napkins. You might consider pairing the tablecloth with contrasting place mats for a wow effect. We handpicked an array of exquisite linens by Malaika, the Egyptian brand known for its hand-woven and hand embroidered items in the finest Egyptian cotton and linen. Besides its beautiful designs, Malaika champions women empowerment and has created the Thread of Hope School in Cairo, a place where women can learn a skill and be independent. For something totally different, you can liven up the table cloth with a touch of rattan: we selected some whimsical place mats in wicker and rattan by Atelier Vime, the famous brand in the South of France that has singlehandedly revived this traditional, ecological material.

And now, it’s time to place the dinner plates and glasses. You can find some inspiring designs by browsing our chic selection of tableware & linens; each item beautifully designed and handcrafted. Porcelain, faience and ceramic are the materials of choice for our collections of dinner plates. Some dinner sets feature the most delicate floral styles that are hand-painted by highly trained specialists of porcelain painting. Our selection includes the iconic signature dinnerware by the late Alberto Pinto, known for his “haute decoration interior design”. The Pinto Collection of ceramic dinnerware taps into 18th century porcelain styles turned into very contemporary dinner sets. For a more Mediterranean feel, we selected the dinnerware collection by Diptyque that conjures the scents and colors of Provence and the South of France. It goes without saying that the Diptyque dinnerware collection is paired with enticing candleholders designed by Osanna Visconti. Because we love tableware & linens, and we know how hard it is to create a well-appointed table, we created “Dîner en Ville” our own collection of tableware & linens for the perfect tablescape. Discover The Invisible Collection’s selection of desirable tableware & linens created by the most talented contemporary designers and handmade by the most skilled artisans and craftswomen.
