Books
Books are like jewels, adorning a coffee table, adding elegance and sophistication. Much like how precious gems draw the eye and spark conversation, thoughtfully chosen books reflect the tastes and personality of the host, transforming a simple table into a focal point of intellectual and aesthetic appeal. At Invisible Collection, we’ve always had a special bond with books. Even our name is inspired by literature, specifically, a poignant short story by Stefan Zweig, simply titled "The Invisible Collection."
In our curated selection of books, we have included some must-have monographs published by Rizzoli, the famed Italian publishing company known for producing high-quality art, architecture, fashion, and design books. The publications they’ve produced are a sort of who’s who of our star designers – and AD100 honorees – such as Charles Zana, Studio KO, and Laura Gonzalez, to name but a few. We also present works from Phaidon, the global publisher renowned for its high-quality books on art, architecture, design, photography, and food. All featuring sophisticated layouts and utterly creative covers, these books explore the great creative minds of the last centuries, including Le Corbusier, Charlotte Perriand, Piero Portaluppi, Charles and Ray Eames, Gio Ponti, and Adalberto Libera, the architect who designed Casa Malaparte.
Among our favorite books, François Halard’s hold a special place. The renowned French photographer, celebrated for his work in interior and architectural photography, has captured the homes and studios of artists, designers, and other notable figures, blending a sense of intimacy with artistic elegance. His work is a testament to his unique ability to portray spaces with depth and character. His latest works feature the homes or ateliers of Cy Twombly, Louise Bourgeois, Yves Saint Laurent, Renzo Mongiardino, Julian Schnabel, and Robert Rauschenberg. For a truly curated book collection, know that Invisible Collection has partnered with 7L, the famed library founded by the late Karl Lagerfeld and now owned by Chanel, to provide a bespoke book curation service that will appeal to bibliophiles around the world.
