“An armchair is a machine for sitting in.” Le Corbusier’s deliberately provocative statement became one of the defining ideas of modernist furniture design. In this spirit, Invisible Collection presents a curated selection of bespoke armchairs spanning contemporary, modernist, Art Deco and Scandinavian design. Discover pieces by Thierry Lemaire, Pierre Augustin Rose and Charlotte Biltgen, alongside iconic re-editions by Jean-Michel Frank, Oscar Niemeyer and Eileen Gray.
Made to measure by European artisans, each armchair is conceived around comfort: how the body sits, rests and is supported. Highlights include the sophisticated, Art Deco-inspired Eileen and Ebisu armchairs, the bold and enveloping Minotaure set on curled bronze feet, and the elegant Elephant, ideal for fireside conversations. A special edit of iconic Scandinavian armchairs brings a timeless Nordic sensibility to the collection.
Upholstery options include custom bouclé by Dedar and Lelièvre, natural linen and velvet. Distinctive frames combine certified woods with refined brass or steel accents. Pieces are upholstered in specialist workshops, including the renowned Atelier Jouffre.
Fire-rated and contract-grade fabrics are available on request for hospitality and interior design projects.
