Aline Asmar d’Amman x The Invisible Collection

Stories News Aline Asmar d’Amman x The Invisible Collection

Design meets art in this dazzling debut collection of furniture pieces available exclusively through us.

We are thrilled to announce our latest collaboration with Aline Amman d’Asmar. The AD-100 architect and interior designer has created a fantastic capsule collection of designs that will be available for purchase exclusively through us. And what better way to celebrate this collaboration than unveiling it during Paris Design Week? The French capital will be buzzing with design luminaries and avid collectors, who’ll be delighted to discover Aline’s much-awaited debut collection on show at Féau Boiseries.

The solo exhibition is a striking display of exceptional furniture & lighting pieces specially created for The Invisible Collection, staged alongside sculptural designs from Aline’s personal project “The memory of Stone” and “Crystal Petal” a special stone-embroidered hand-painted wallpaper created in collaboration with de Gournay.

Celebrating femininity through the sensuality of forms and materials, each distinctive piece embodies Aline’s boundless passion for high craft and creative freedom. Highlights from the collection include the voluptuously braided, sensual shapes of the ‘Georgia‘ conversation salon where powder pink mohair invokes a contemporary ‘Hollywood glamour’ spirit – posing a striking point of contrast to the tense, androgynous lines of the ‘Smoking‘ lighting collection – grafted with black metal, crowned with white silk cardboard, and underlined with brushed satin brass.

The sensual femininity of Georgia is counterpointed by the irreverent masculinity of the ‘Gent’ lounge chairs; adorned with a folded aluminium shell and painted in sfumato of metallic gleams inspired in part by Hiroshi Sugimoto’s Seascapes. The chairs reveal a clever play of sliding materials and reflections, from a luxurious velvet shine to a varnished metal in a variety of abstract sunset shades.

“With Aline, it was a cultural coup de foudre at first sight! We have so much in common and her work speaks to me in a very subtle way – every time I look at it, I am excited to discover a delicate new detail, exquisite trait, or hidden quality…” says our co-founder Isabelle Dubern-Mallevays. “I am very drawn to the ease with which Aline imbues femininity with such courage and strength. We are so proud and delighted that she shares our vision and has graced us with such an entrancing collection of furniture specially made for us.”

The feeling is mutual, acknowledges Aline: “I am delighted to be able to join The Invisible Collection, a visionary gallery led by women I admire, which showcases the talents of architects and decorators on a platform that has become a reflection of a particular art of living.”

The exhibition is beautifully staged in the otherworldly setting of Féau Boiseries, much to Aline’s delight: “I am returning to a place that is close to my heart, Guillaume Féau’s boiserie gallery, for this first exhibition of a furniture collection that encompasses research carried out over the years, projects, and special encounters. Guillaume Féau is one of these special encounters: we met through Karl Lagerfeld, during the renovation of the Hôtel de Crillon. I came to find the boiseries archives that Karl was looking for during our work on ‘Les Grands Appartements’, and I discovered treasures of inspiration for this iconic project and for all the others carried out by my design studio ‘Culture in Architecture’.”

The exhibition is on show throughout Paris Design Week and until the end of September, by appointment only.
