Smoking Table Lamp by Aline Asmar d’Amman is part of the contemporary lighting collection ‘Smoking’ an anthology of taut lines and clean cuts, patinated and grafted metals, scratched, pleated and hand-finished, borrowing an array of attributes from the legendary fashion suit, reinterpreted in architectural textures.
Brushed steel and brass, striated and adorned with deep matte blacks, highlighted with gold, topped with white silk cardboard, allude to a prim and proper silhouette, inspired by the details and allure of the ‘Smoking’ dinner jacket.
Alabaster, pink Onyx, Marquina marble, and Zebrano wood appear on the lights, caught between the metal and the fabric caps, like grafts of precious stones on the walls.
With its sleek and smoothed design, carefully proportioned custom-made textures, the clip-on inserts of finely chiseled and softened stones, the large family of ‘Smoking’ lights plays with couture codes and adorns the space with a radical and inspired presence, resembling a space jewel.
