The Smoking Table Lamp carries the imagination of Aline Asmar d’Amman, the Lebanese-French architect behind Culture in Architecture, whose work spans the historic renovation of the Hôtel de Crillon in Paris to the Lebanese Pavilion at the Venice Biennale. Across every project, she builds a dialogue between the raw and the precious, and the Smoking Table Lamp is where that dialogue takes physical form.

Named for ‘le smoking,’ the French term for a tuxedo, the Smoking Table Lamp dresses its striated steel body in a black patina satin finish, with brushed brass satin details standing in for cufflinks and a shade piped top and bottom in white satin fabric, like the collar of a dress shirt. It is couture tailoring translated into lighting, built for a nightstand or a desk.
