Founded in Porto by Artur Miranda and Jacques Bec, Oitoemponto — Portuguese for ‘eight o’clock sharp’ — is a studio obsessed with precision and theatre, pushing lacquer, marquetry, rare woods and marble to technical extremes that turn cabinetmaking into something closer to set design.

The Paulista table lamp by Oitoemponto is a tribute to Lina Bo Bardi, the architect behind São Paulo’s Museum of Modern Art on Avenida Paulista, whose name the lamp borrows. Its rosewood body rises from a bronze base with the same confident, sculptural presence that defined Bo Bardi’s suspended concrete museum.

Crowned with a silk shade in a choice of colours, the lamp channels warm materiality — rosewood’s deep grain, bronze’s soft sheen — into a quietly monumental object for a side table or console. It stands as one of Oitoemponto’s most direct architectural homages, distilled into a single luminous form.
