Much of the studio’s output pays homage to Brazil’s mid-century ‘brutalist’ architects — Niemeyer, Lucio Costa, Burle Marx, Lina Bo Bardi — reworking their curves, concrete geometries and tropical modernism into limited-edition furniture. The result is a cosmopolitan, fashion-influenced sensibility that reads as much like homage as it does design.

The Lucio coffee table by Oitoemponto is named for Lucio Costa, who together with Le Corbusier designed the Maison du Brésil at Paris’s Cité Universitaire — a building whose raw concrete and sharp geometry inspired the entire Brazilian brutalist homage this piece belongs to. Limited to just 8 pieces, it is as much architectural tribute as furniture.

Its tabletop is hand-gouged oak, ringed in black lacquer, resting on feet finished in green lacquer with stainless steel inclusions — a material dialogue between the roughness of gouged wood and the precision of metal. Every gouge mark is worked by hand, so no two tabletops read quite the same.
