With the Etreinte Coffee Table, Sébastien Caporusso continues an ongoing dialogue between architecture and craft. The Brussels-based designer, celebrated as Designer of the Year at Belgium’s Biennale Interieur, approaches every piece as an exercise in noble, tactile materials — stone, marble, brass, bronze — shaped into eclectic, dreamlike forms that are as poetic as they are livable.

True to its name — étreinte, French for embrace — the coffee table wraps around its own generous, softly rounded volume in solid acacia. A carefully selected slice of marble is set into the tray, its cool veining offering an atypical contrast to the warmth of the wood it seems to hold close.
