The Julie Coffee Table carries the name of Maison Leleu, the French Art Deco house Jules Leleu founded in 1910 and that once dressed the ocean liner Normandie, the Elysee Palace and the United Nations lounge in Geneva. Revived today by great-granddaughter Alexia Leleu, the maison works from its own archive, translating drawings by Jules, Jean and Paule Leleu into pieces for contemporary interiors.

Topped in red lacquer and set on a structure of gilded bronze and gunmetal, with legs in solid bronze, the Julie coffee table descends from the Peneloppe console in the Leleu archives, keeping its pattern of circles and spheres while shifting from a wall-hung console to a low table. The motif nods to Art Deco’s more geometric, disciplined take on floral ornament, a deliberate departure from the looser, organic curves of Art Nouveau that came before it.
