The Dune Coffee Table is designed by Pietro Franceschini, the Italian architect behind PF|Studio, whose “neotenic design” philosophy strips forms down to a pure, almost childlike geometry. Each piece is realized through an uncompromising material chain — marble quarried and carved in Carrara, metalwork cast and finished in Florence, upholstery crafted in Milan.
Dune is a sculptural coffee table with a structure in Necuron, a composite material precisely cut by robot before being finished entirely by hand with a layered, hand-painted surface. The piece stages a dialogue between high technology and craftsmanship, its soft dune-like curves suggesting the shifting contours of sand shaped by wind, frozen into a solid, sittable form.
Pietro Franceschini is an architect and designer based in New York and Florence, with an international curriculum, attending schools in Italy, Portugal, and the United States. Following his B.Arch cum laude from Università degli Studi in Florence and his M.S.Arch with 1st class honour from Pratt Institute, he started collaborating with several renowned firms, including Leeser Architecture in Brooklyn, Claudio Nardi in Florence, Laisné Roussel in Paris, and Carlo Ratti Associati in New York.
