The Marina table lamp is a tribute to the geometric harmony of Art Deco and the purity of primitive art. Made of bronze, the lamp features on its base some intricate motifs that draw from the patterns that Paule Leleu (Jules’ daughter) designed for many of the brand’s signature rugs.
Founded in 1910 by Jules Leleu, Maison Leleu has been the reference point for French interior decoration throughout the twentieth century. One of the most sought after ensembliers of his time, Jules Leleu seamlessly merged new styles and materials fully embracing Art Deco’s innovations. The designer and furniture maker created an array of collections encompassing all furnishings, including rugs and lights, beautifully executed by highly skilled craftsmen. With the help of his sons, Jules successfully incorporated the 40s modernism into his design process without ever sacrificing the superior quality of his work. Jules passed away in 1961, leaving his company in the capable hands of his progeny. The brand is now run by the fourth generation of Leleus, with great-granddaughter Alexia unearthing some emblematic pieces from the company’s archives and reviving them with a contemporary touch.
