Designed in 1924, the Nun Lamp by Pierre Chareau is one of the masterpieces of the 20th century. More a sculpture than a lamp, Pierre Chareau boldly combined the sensual roundness of a solid wooden barrel with aggressively shaped alabaster panels, toned down solely by their translucence.
