The Sculptural Lighting by Lars Nilsson pays tribute to nature. These sculptural pieces are inspired by the topiary trees at Hildasholm in Dalarna and the horizon over the lakes, with its colour combinations of light. Lars wanted to create a collection of sculptural objects for the home defined by a graphic pattern mimicking a stripe without being one. The distinctive pieces feature contrasting textures and materials in the likes of ceramic, bronze, oakwood and felt wool.During his one year stay at Dalarna – from 2019 to 2020 – Lars designed and handcrafted these styles with the help of artisans from the local ceramic workshop and from the bronze foundry. He then added hand-carved solid oak elements and stitched felt wool fabric made from the sheep grazing around lake Siljan. The outcome is an ode to the ever-changing horizon.

A strong passion for the arts and for craft techniques led Lars Nilsson to Paris where he studied design at the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture. During his stints at Chanel Couture and Christian Lacroix, he realized that his true passion lied in mastering the structures, materials and refined techniques behind the clothes rather than fashion itself. Today, Lars creates beautiful fabrics and objects defined by unexpected shapes and vibrant colours. Alongside his namesake collections, he collaborates with renowned brands in the likes of Dior, Ralph Lauren and Nina Ricci to name but a few.
