Background
Apolline Morel-Lab is a designer. Trained in glass art and object design at the HEAR (Haute École des Arts du Rhin), she later graduated with a Master’s degree in Design and Luxury Craftsmanship from ECAL. After working in an agency as a decorator, she founded her own studio in 2024. There, she designs objects and lighting pieces, either self-produced or in collaboration with manufacturers, exploring a sensitive and sculptural language centered on pâte de verre. Her work is distinguished by variations in thickness, transparency, and architecturally structured forms. By navigating the boundary between art and design, she places the intimate relationship between material and light at the heart of her creations.
Signature Style
Primarily focused on glass, Apolline Morel-Lab creates objects that go beyond simple functionality, inviting us to reconsider our perception of light and its ability to transform space. Inspired by the natural environment, her approach is rooted in the observation of landscapes. Chromatic shifts, changing reflections, and subtle plays of transparency inspire her to translate these sensations into timeless creations.
Showstoppers
Apolline’s artisanal practice revolves mainly around glass, a material whose plasticity allows her to explore sculptural forms. Her pieces are conceived as compositions that evolve with their surroundings — both through the light they diffuse and the light they capture.
