Born in 1982 in Paris, Marine Breynaert studied at the École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs (EnsAD). In 2010, she founded the Atelier Marine Breynaert, primarily focused on lighting. She has developed a visual language combining minimal lines, a love for textures, material effects, and a rigorous craftsmanship honed over the years. Each creation is meticulously handcrafted in collaboration with French artisan craftsmen. Her patinas with rich textures, contrasting lacquers, and lampshades that sculpt light give birth to series that are both powerful and complex. This dedication and precision in craftsmanship have allowed Marine Breynaert to merge different legacies. Her lighting designs stand as visual paradoxes, blending industrial design with contemporary poetry.
Invisible Collection and Mobilier National partner to promote contemporary creation and present limited-edition designs. Mobilier National, a major institution for contemporary creation and the promotion of French decorative arts, has been dedicated since the seventeenth century to preserving, restoring, and managing unique state-owned collections of furniture, tapestries, and decorative objects. In recent years, Mobilier National has broadened its scope by launching an annual “Campagne d’Acquisition” to support creativity and integrate contemporary designs into the national collections. These works are then exhibited in prestigious institutional buildings.
Thanks to this unprecedented partnership, a curated selection of contemporary furniture from Mobilier National’s latest Campagne d’Acquisition is now available in a limited edition.
The Alexandre lamp in striped glass captures the essence of Art Deco style. Its clean lines highlight the refined craftsmanship of its details: a solid brass ring, a dark green texture, and a delicately shaped glass whose stripes dress the light. Its elongated form and the balance of its silhouette impose it simply, as an obvious choice. The Donna lamp, on the other hand, follows the continuity of the iconic candlesticks from the Atelier Marine Breynaert: shapes and colours to be assembled, contrasting materials; a joyful piece that stands out both on its own and in composition with other objects. The brushed surfaces of brass and copper dialogue with the shine of bright colours. The roundness of the blown glass punctuates the rhythm, creating an object that is both pop, light, and refined.
