Signature Style
Joëlle draws inspiration from relevant human and environmental challenges, focusing on the issue of repetitive gestures, which informs her creative process. Additionally, as a photographer, she has a keen sensitivity to the effects of light on surfaces and volumes. She believes that objects interact with their environment in various ways throughout their conception, encompassing plastic, technical, material, logistics, and human aspects. Her work explores the duality between the material world and the living realm in all its forms.
Showstoppers
The Pulse Chair, designed as a massive yet supple and lightweight object, exudes a cloud of comfort. Just as a brush stroke complements a watercolor splash in art, the wood envelops and supports the foam, guiding this supple and vibrant moving object. Its bellow-like shape resembles an undulating wave, inviting one to sink into its plush, luxurious velvet. The pleated seams structure the plush, luxurious velvet fabric, accentuating curves highlighted by a play of light. The Pulse Chair embodies Joëlle’s vision, brought to life by Biobject in partnership with Tapisserie Seigneur, guardians of ancestral tapestry and upholstery techniques.
