Background
Moro Dabron is a partnership between London-based designers Austin Moro and Eliza Dabron. Born out of their love of romantic interiors and gardens through time, Moro Dabron have designed and developed a collection of Eau de Parfums and vessels filled with fragranced wax.
Signature style
The inherent value in something that has taken time and skill to create: the two designers strive to present each product with those sentiments in mind – from the quality of the packaging to the historic homes they photograph their products in. Championing heritage and ancestral know-how, Moro Dabron prefer to work with British craftsmen whose skills have often been passed down from generation to generation and risk being superseded by methods of mass production. The brand’s candle vessels are hand poured and fired in the potteries of a small English town called Stoke-on-Trent, using the same techniques taught hundreds of years ago. The scents are heavily inspired by evocative images of places, people, or paintings from an earlier period that the duo feel an affinity for, which combine to form the beginning of a scent brief. The designers work collaboratively with a French perfumer to capture the spirit of those moments in time, or how they imagine them to be.
Showstoppers
The covetable twin-handled candles that are poured, glazed and fired in an English pottery with a gentle nod to the work of the late florist and author Constance Spry, whose own sculptural vessels for The Fulham Pottery pioneered a unique aesthetic of flower arranging in the 1930s. Once burned through, each vessel is intended to become a keepsake for flower stems.
