Studio Cabane was founded by Pauline Pietri, a designer-maker, and Lorien Cau, a cabinetmaker and sculptor. From their mountain studio and their workshop on the edge of the forest, they design objects directly inspired by their surroundings. For them, the Pyrenees are a place rich in materials, where craftsmanship is ever-present.

Materiality lies at the very heart of their creative approach: materials themselves dictate the forms and textures of their objects through the constraints they impose. Pauline and Lorien seek to explore materials both familiar — wood, paper, clay — and yet to be discovered, through experimentation, research, and the sharing of knowledge, with a desire to learn by doing. Their work reflects a strong commitment to considering their environment and way of life in the creation and design of objects.
