Jérôme Faillant-Dumas

Stories Exhibitions Jérôme Faillant-Dumas

A new exhibition of exclusive design opens at our Paris Gallery, just in time for the kickoff of PAD Paris.

As celebrations for PAD Paris begin, Invisible Collection joins in style with Love, Jérôme, a fascinating exhibition featuring new designs by Jérôme Faillant-Dumas. Set in our Paris Gallery, this elegant mise en scène showcases Jérôme’s mastery both as a designer and ensemblier. The fitting title evokes the concept of an exhibition conceived like a postcard, where each piece of furniture represents a special message to design lovers across the globe. The entire setting radiates a chic ambiance, a playground where Jérôme explores endless variations of elegance. Exclusive new creations by Jérôme sit alongside signature pieces from previous collections, as well as selected designs from other talents at Invisible Collection and artworks from his private collection. The minimalist yet sophisticated décor evokes the intimacy of a private home, blending luxurious materials and traditional craftsmanship into a contemporary aesthetic defined by comfort and serene beauty. Jérôme Faillant-Dumas needs no introduction. As one of the first designers to join Invisible Collection at its inception, he is renowned for his stunning projects rich in texture, vibrant hues, and sophisticated atmospheres.

Before founding his own agency, L.O.V.E., Faillant-Dumas spent over 15 years at Yves Saint Laurent, honing his confident eye for color and beauty in all its manifestations. This exhibition further illustrates the French designer’s distinctive vocabulary of elegant shapes, luxurious materials, and that elusive je ne sais quoi that sets him apart. It embodies the essence of Parisian chic – admired by all, mastered by few. Reviving the French tradition of ensembliers, exhibition pairs his original furniture pieces – including his signature Elephant Armchair and the 19 Chair – with selected works from Invisible Collection’s talented designers. A highlight is the Elephant Armchair, elegantly presented in a pale, jade-like green for this occasion. This armchair is an oversized reinterpretation of the classic wingchair – a traditional furniture piece designed to shield occupants from drafts, usually placed near a fireplace to trap warmth. By altering the proportions, Faillant-Dumas invents an unmistakably new silhouette. Different tableaux punctuate the space: an elegant living area features the Geometric sofa and armchair, anchored by a Diurne rug.

At its center stands the fascinating Croco table—a feat of craftsmanship with a top composed of glass tassels mimicking crocodile scales. On the wall hangs a portrait of a young man, painted by none other than Ludovic Faillant-Dumas, Jérôme’s grandfather. Opposite, a contrasting design scheme evokes a more intimate atmosphere, where Faillant-Dumas harmoniously arranges the Otlo sofa, a Jacques Doucet coffee table, the delicate Adé stool in polished bronze, and the Elephant Armchair. The space is further adorned with lighting fixtures of various shapes and origins, including the Culbuto and G lamps by Faillant-Dumas, complemented by select vintage pieces. Infusing his work with the subtle nostalgia of French culture and aesthetics, Jérôme Faillant-Dumas draws a delicate thread from Proust, Doucet and Saint Laurent. His creations are never radical; instead, they carry a singular, understated elegance. A quiet sophistication that feels perfectly at home in any décor, designed to belong anywhere and stand apart everywhere.
Coinciding with PAD Paris, Love, Jérôme is open to the public until the end of June. Don’t miss it – book your visit now.

Jérôme Faillant-Dumas

After a 15-year-career as Art Director for Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé, Jérôme Faillant-Dumas founded Love Editions. His agency creates furniture and interior design projects for private clients, as well as for stores and restaurants. Jérôme is also a brand consultant, and specializes in packaging design for major luxury houses. The time he spent working close to Jacques Helleu at Chanel, taught him the importance of aesthetic coherence. The perfect balance between classicism and modernity: his timeless pieces bear the mark of classic perfection, whilst remaining tantalizingly daring. Straw marquetry and alabaster alongside plaster and Plexiglas are among his favorite materials. His work is imbued with a strong, gentle and thoroughly Parisian modernity.
