The glass top is cast in a deep translucent red with a darker, cloudy core pooling at its centre, an effect close to the caramelised heart of a boiled sweet, achieved by controlling how the molten crystal cools and settles rather than through applied colour. Irish crystal glass carries particular clarity and weight, and hand-polishing after casting is what gives the surface its glassy, uninterrupted shine despite the material’s density. Below it, the cast bronze base splits into three legs, their surface hand-carved with a fine striated texture that catches light unevenly, closer to worked wood grain than to typical smooth-cast metal. The legs curve outward from a single central stem before meeting the floor, giving the table a light, almost animated stance despite the solidity of its materials. Sweetie suits a spot beside an armchair or bed, where its saturated colour reads as a single, concentrated gesture in a room.
