Drawing on this design history, Guillemain launched his own line of contemporary furniture, translating the minimalist elegance and sensual, curvilinear forms of twentieth-century icons into pieces crafted by master artisans with an unmistakable sculptural presence.
The Goug Side Table by Alexandre Guillemain is not just a place to rest a lamp. It stands on a mushroom-shaped base that supports a top finished with a hand-gouged wood texture, a nod to the 1950s aesthetic the designer has spent his career sourcing and celebrating through his Saint-Germain-des-Prés gallery.
Pictured here in a black-tinted ash that lets the gouged grain read as pure sculpture, the table is also available in wengé ash or natural oak. Bespoke dimensions, finishes and colours can be tailored upon request, so each table can echo the character of the room it joins.
