The Dot collection by Reda Amalou is a contemporary interpretation of the traditional stool commonly found in Asian culture. With a visually strong presence, the stool draws its character from the fine materials it’s crafted from and its refined finish. Made from solid wood and hand-polished to create a sleek surface, the stool undergoes special lacquering techniques mastered in Vietnam, where lacquer is celebrated as a living heritage. Reda Amalou sought out one of Vietnam’s most revered workshops, where each piece is meticulously handcrafted using ancestral techniques—an artisanal expertise recognized by prestigious luxury brands. This workshop embodies Vietnamese heritage and excellence, guaranteeing quality for discerning clients. Here, tradition and modernity come together to deliver high-end products with unmatched attention to detail and sustainability.
Born in Paris, he studied in London at East London University and worked for twenty years on numerous hotel projects in Asia, Europe and the Middle East with a strong ecological tropism. His combination of minimalism, elegance and sobriety expressed in curves and noble materials, deep lacquer, bronze, leather, gives a strong sense of luxury to his collection.Â
