Paulo Werneck, a self-taught Brazilian modernist who collaborated with Oscar Niemeyer on the São Francisco de Assis church in Pampulha, designed furniture defined by mosaic-patterned tabletops in native Brazilian woods, faithfully re-edited today by Etel with his estate.

Also designed in 1940, the Joaquim side table is shown here in honey Brazilian Imbuia, its top worked in mosaic.
