From his Stockholm studio, founded in 2013, Mathieu works on a variety of projects spanning furniture design and research into new sustainable materials. Although rooted in his Scandinavian heritage—clean, minimal, and understated—Mathieu tries to infuse it with a layer of originality often drawn from his French background. His process often starts with a specific material or technique that he wants to reinterpret or approach from a fresh perspective.Â
