The Avenue d’Antin armchair designed by couturier Paul Poiret. A precursor of Parisian elegance, Paul Poiret created the Martine school to infuse new forms into the decorative arts. This was followed by the creation of the Martine workshops and publishing house. This chair features the geometric motif of the garden trellis, a recurring motif in the festive scenes orchestrated by the couturier and attended by the Tout-Paris of the Belle Époque.
