Each Noma piece is produced by French craftsmen who treat industrial cast-offs — railway sleepers, packaging plastics, quarry off-cuts — as raw material for genuine luxury. The result is a collection where sustainability is never a compromise on form, but the very source of its character.
The Laime chauffeuse extends Charlotte Juillard’s exploration of noble materials for Noma Editions into a lower, more intimate seat. Its structure of recycled tubular steel cradles a cushion that seems to slip between the metal tubes, an architectural gesture the designer describes as built entirely ‘around the seat cushion’ rather than around a conventional frame.
Pictured in a Terre de Sienne red structure upholstered with ecru Arpin Drap de Bonneval wool, the chauffeuse belongs to a collection made of 42% recycled materials, using 100% natural French wool left undyed to preserve its raw, textural honesty. Structures are also available in Blue Sapphire or Black Satin, each revealing a different mood.
