The Daiku Armchair is designed by Victoria Magniant, who works hand in hand with French ateliers to translate noble materials, wood, glass, brass, into pieces that read as much like sculpture as furniture. She draws on the pared-back forms of Isamu Noguchi and Barbara Hepworth, choosing slowness and craft over speed.

Upholstered in walnut here, with tinted ash also available, the Daiku Armchair adds a fuller, more enveloping seat to the collection while keeping its signature matte aluminium frame linking seat and backrest. Every element is shaped by hand in workshops where traditional joinery meets modern technique, so the finished chair keeps the slight variations in grain and texture that come with solid wood.

This creation is crafted from solid wood, a natural material that naturally expands, contracts and cracks with temperature and humidity changes. Variations in grain, colour, and texture are inherent and natural. These natural changes are a sign of authenticity, and part of what makes each piece unique.
