Victoria Magniant designed the Ma Barstool from her Paris studio, where she pairs French cabinetmakers and glassblowers with an eye trained on sculptors like Noguchi and Hepworth. For Magniant, choosing a material is also a way of defending a culture, a skill and an ethic of craftsmanship.
In solid oak here, upholstered in Pierre Frey’s Sequoia fabric in ochre, the Ma Barstool carries the same fluid silhouette as its lower counterpart, its curves and joints flowing into one another almost without seam. It brings the Ma collection’s quiet, sculptural language to a counter or kitchen island, comfort built from precise geometry rather than heavy padding.
