Victoria Magniant designed the Ma Chair from her Paris studio, where she pairs French cabinetmakers and glassblowers with an eye trained on sculptors like Noguchi and Hepworth. For Magniant, choosing a material is also a way of defending a culture, a skill and an ethic of craftsmanship.

Shown here in solid oak with a satin finish and upholstered in Pierre Frey’s Sequoia fabric in an ochre tone, though also available in black oak with Lichen cotton or walnut with Lichen slate-grey, the Ma Chair is built around a silhouette shaped entirely by the interplay of curves and joints. Each element flows into the next without interruption, a quiet celebration of solid wood and precise, patient craftsmanship rather than applied ornament.

This creation is crafted from solid wood, a natural material that naturally expands, contracts and cracks with temperature and humidity changes. Variations in grain, colour, and texture are inherent and natural. These natural changes are a sign of authenticity, and part of what makes each piece unique.
