FAM is the Portuguese abbreviation for “Feito à Mão,” which means “Handmade”—a reference to the time and meticulous care invested in the creation of each piece. The intention of its founder, Ligia Guedes, is to promote Portuguese craftsmanship in a modern and contemporary way, adopting a more experimental and spontaneous approach that creates a confluence between craftsmanship, art, and design. Today, the studio operates as a collective of interior designers, graphic designers, photographers, artists, and, of course, artisans.
