Maisonjaune’s world is built on atmosphere and feeling: warm palettes, natural materials and the curved, convivial shapes of the 1960s and ’70s. Rattan, straw, brass and velvet run through the collection, each piece designed less as an object than as an invitation — to slow down, gather closer, and let a room feel lived-in from the very first day.
The Ublo Mirror draws directly on the brutalist architecture of the 1970s, a reference Maisonjaune Studio’s Élodie and Julien Régnier translate into something soft rather than austere. Designed as much as a sculpture as a functional mirror, it uses the mirror’s own reflective surface as one more material in the composition, alongside plaster.
Cast in natural white plaster over a wooden core, the Ublo highlights the plaster’s own pale, chalky color rather than disguising it, bringing warmth and softness to a reference point that is usually associated with raw concrete. It is a quiet example of Maisonjaune’s broader instinct: take a hard architectural idea and give it a gentler, more livable form.
Founded by Elodie and Julien Régnier, Maisonjaune Studio caters to design aficionados who look for rare vintage pieces and artworks. Julien comes from a family of antique dealers and learnt from them all the secrets of unearthing the best pieces anywhere. Elodie was an accomplished lawyer until… the day she met Julien. They moved in together, and she embraced her new life driven by her newfound passion for design. The duo has been working on private residences and commercial projects injecting their eclectic, refined taste. In addition to interior design and sourcing vintage pieces, they have launched their original line of furniture.
