Art & Design in Paris

Stories News Art & Design in Paris

Invisible Collection Paris Rive Gauche is joining the celebrations for Paris+ par Art Basel and Design Miami/Paris with a solo show of Allegra Hicks alongside a curated exhibition of contemporary designs.

Arguably, this is the most important week for the French capital in terms of Art & Design. In addition to the second edition of Paris+ par Art Basel the city will also host the first edition of Design Miami/Paris. Collectors have been flocking in from across the globe – in some cases after making a stopover in London to attend Frieze and the Pad fairs – and now they are ready to enjoy myriads of exhibitions and events all about contemporary art and design.

Design enthusiasts will delight in attending the debut edition of Design Miami/Paris, which takes place at the Hôtel de Maisons, a spectacular hôtel particulier where Karl Lagerfeld lived until his passing. Conveniently situated within walking distance of both the Grand Palais Ephémère and the Hôtel de Maisons, where the two fairs are being held, Invisible Collection Paris Rive Gauche will welcome eager collectors and design aficionados to discover and experience the best of contemporary design in person.

Highlights include the unveiling of new works by Allegra Hicks. Well-known for her fascination with the art of bronze, the Italian-British artist and designer presents an exclusive capsule from her Crochet Collection. Made with the lost-wax technique and cast in an artisanal Neapolitan foundry, the stunning ensemble includes a console with its accompanying mirror and wall sconces, along with a striking coffee table in crocheted bronze, all showcased in a setting inspired by the style of ensembliers from the 1940s. The designs are available exclusively through Invisible Collection.

Alongside Allegra’s new works we introduce a host of pieces created by today’s most sought-after designers, including Courtney Applebaum, Minjae Kim, Garcé & Dimofski, Mayaro, and Louise Liljencrantz, as well as artworks by Gwen Hardie and Aurece Vettier, both represented by Spaceless Gallery.
