A trained designer, Eve George studied at the École Boulle and later at the École nationale supérieure de création industrielle (ENSCI – Les Ateliers). She then decided to train in glassblowing to bring her ideas to life, merging intellectual work with hands-on craftsmanship. Laurent Fichot, born to ceramicist parents, studied artistic turning and spent countless hours in his family’s workshops. He began a career in glassblowing, gaining 15 years of experience in France’s most prestigious glassmaking institutions, including Saint Louis, Lalique, and Biot. Since their meeting, Eve and Laurent have continued their creative dialogue, culminating in the creation of Atelier George. This collaboration combines their complementary skills, blending a glassblowing workshop with a design studio.
Invisible Collection and Mobilier National partner to promote contemporary creation and present limited-edition designs. Mobilier National, a major institution for contemporary creation and the promotion of French decorative arts, has been dedicated since the seventeenth century to preserving, restoring, and managing unique state-owned collections of furniture, tapestries, and decorative objects. In recent years, Mobilier National has broadened its scope by launching an annual “Campagne d’Acquisition” to support creativity and integrate contemporary designs into the national collections. These works are then exhibited in prestigious institutional buildings.
Thanks to this unprecedented partnership, a curated selection of contemporary furniture from Mobilier National’s latest Campagne d’Acquisition is now available in a limited edition.
The Feuille pendant light is a glass fixture, blown between two rhubarb leaves that serve as ephemeral moulds, burned away with each casting. During the glassblowing process, the texture of the plant’s veins imprints itself onto the surface of the piece, creating these organic lines. Cime, the collection from which Feuille is derived, was entirely created using plant imprints directly captured in molten glass. Conceived between 2020 and 2022, amidst the global upheavals of the time, this collection encapsulates traces of the surrounding nature near Atelier George (Mont Saint Jean, 21). From this fiery preservation of harvested plants emerge forms that are impossible to replicate, only to imitate in other ways.
